Know the Steps to Apply Your Whitening
After receiving your whitening kit from KoR, you’ll probably be quite excited to start brightening your smile. Before you do, start by brushing and flossing your teeth. Once you’re sure no plaque or food debris is present, take the container of desensitizer fluid and drip it onto the swabs provided in the kit until the swab is moist, but not dripping.
Before application, pull your cheek and lip away from your mouth to expose your teeth and dry them with either a cloth or paper towel. After drying, apply the desensitizer starting with your front teeth and ending with your first molar. After applying to all of your tooth’s surfaces, repeat this process for the other three corners of your mouth. Once finished, gently rinse your mouth with cold water.
After rinsing, begin filling the KoR whitening trays by dispensing a dab of whitening gel to each tooth on the inner side of the outer walls of the trays, except the second molars. Once filled, place the trays inside your mouth and gently press them so the edges of the tray contact the teeth next to the gum line. Wear the trays between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on your level of sensitivity.
What to Do After Removing the Trays
Once you’ve removed your trays, rinse them out with cool water. Use a Q-tip in a rotating motion to remove excess gel. After removing excess water from your trays, place them back into their protective case. If you intend on whitening again within the next 12 hours, leave the case open to ensure the trays dry in time. After cleaning, brush your teeth and reapply the desensitizer to prevent sensitivity throughout the day.
Key Tips to Maintaining White Teeth
To keep your trays and smile in the best condition possible, take note of the following tips dentists often recommend to their patients undergoing KoR whitening.
- Do NOT use warm or hot water to clean your trays.
- Avoid eating foods or beverages that would badly stain clothing.
- Try to whiten every day for the most effective results possible.
- Do NOT leave your trays in a hot environment.
- Leave your trays out of reach of pets or children.
- Speak with your dentist on how to obtain the most evenly white smile possible.
